sorority comments

At the rate ADPi is getting all 5's, and alot of the other houses are getting all 1's, I think they should be in first place by the end of the week. They say that everyone really likes them, so I suspect the all 5's will keep coming. And don't you think if Gamma Phi or DG for instance were doing all the ranking they would bother to say something nice about themselves? They have had terrible things written about them this week.

kappa, kd, zeta and phi mu are the best? You keep on and on - isn't anyone else allowed to have an opinion?

I am not in a sorority at UGA . I will say I have not seen many unattractive or met any rude classless girls at all. They are all such great sororities. Sure you hear more about the traditional southern sororities because UGA is a southern college. Growing up in GA I heard more about Phi Mu, ADPi, Xo, KAO and KKG than any others. This is how they get high popularity rankings. Men and women come to UGA already familiar with those names. What occurs once one has spent a year here or less is that other sororities are just as good AXO, SK, DDD, GPB, PBP, DZ, AOP. It really is not a fair board. No one should be able to rank these sororities unless they have been at UGA for at least a year. Reason being... then you really know the sororities better. I personally like the more quiet reserved sororites so my ranks will be higher for laid back sororities than someone who likes sororities that like to party.

what happened? why are their letters covered?

Thanks so much for your posting. Makes one think that at UGA rush is too early - maybe if it was done in the second semester freshmen would get an idea of the range of choices they actually have - i.e. do you want a southern sorority over a national one; do I want a party sorority or one more concerned with their philanthropy etc. etc. If everyone could just get off this one is the best and this one is the worst we would all be much better off.

It would also negate the effects,in part, of dirty rushing in summer. It would be a great thing for UGA to do since they have such a huge dirty rushing problem,

Really.... Do you really need to get on here and bash houses when you have already left Georgia? Every girl is going to love her sorority and make the best of friends and have a wonderful time in college whether you like their sorority or not. You haven't been to school here in 3 years but you feel the need to bash?? A lot can change in 3 years... except for your immature attitude.

I agree that a later rush date would benefit all concerned. It would give the freshman girls a chance to get acclimated to college life,classes, etc. In addition it would alleviate the problem of girls who are wait listed until 2nd semester- which is happening alot now that UGA is so hard to get into. I believe Ole Miss has rush in January. Panhellenic will never change tho.
