although you sound like a very nice person - it sounds a lot like noblesse oblige when you write. That a sorority chooses a poor girl with no money (how did she pay her dues etc.?) was "accepted" by the other girls. Did it make them feel good - is that what you are trying to say? Having been Rushed and also Rushed other girls - it would never have occurred to me to ask whether someone had money or not - you simply tried to figure out whether someone would fit in. In many sororities this means are they attractive, do they have money etc. Personally I am not knocking the system it is what it is. To deny it is to live in denial it.
You sound real and I hope I know you.

You know, I had a great time during my years as a UNC Kappa. There were plenty of beautiful and fun girls in my house, and I had a blast for all four years, lots of dates, mixers, great sister events, etc. Perhaps it isn't YOUR idea of fun and beauty (maybe were low on blondes, but had many gorgeous brunettes and redheads), but we kept it classy, we had strong sisterly bonds, and there is no need to come on a site like this and call out a chapter as being "not beautiful and fun." I guess you can be an outside judge of beauty, but unless you were a UNC KKG sister also, you have very little idea about whether or not we had fun. Or whether the current actives are having fun (most of them are - they are thrilled with their new Kappa babies). So think about that next time you feel like saying something unkind.
