Your daughter's qualifications are insufficient for her to join a top house (whatever that is). And because you have discouraged her from looking at the other ones, she blew her chance to join the house where she actually belongs and where she would actually be happy. And now no one will really want her after she rejected them, if she actually tries to rush next year.

At least now she can focus on her studies.
