Frat Spring Rush Essentials

In order of the UGAIFC instagram account:
AGR: Good for a specific type of person you'll know if you fit in very quick after going to a rush event
Alpha Sig: no idea I only know like 2 of these guys and theyre nice but I dont think theyre getting a house any time soon, I think theyre just operating out of a brothers house rn. Reply if Im wrong
BYX: like AGR, niche, but for a different type of guy. Again you'll know if you fit in really quick
Chi Psi: dont know any of these guys, I know they have had very small PCs recently. Might be worth going to an event of theirs if youre an introvert or are ok with a small frat experience
DKE: In my eyes theyre just a bigger Chi Psi. House is way off campus idk anything about their parties
DTD: Used to be mid, then got bad. Their most recent PC had like 25 guys though. Their house is way off campus, idk anything about their parties. Probably have an ok future ahead of them if they get rid of the house and move to milledge?
LXA: Personally I'd just wait until they get their house back, I'm sure they'll get good again.
Phi Tau: they sold their house that was next to SAE and have a new one thats in the projects lol I think this is probably a solid group for guys who are less frat and more just want a friend group
Phi Kap: their house sucks terribly, but guys I know here are a range from weird to complete chillers. I think they don't really care ab their reputation and just chill with who they like
Sig Ep: In my mind they're the clear best house doing spring rush, I dont know why they do spring rush they get large fall PCs. Girls like them and they are perceived well on campus
Sigma Pi: Personally the only people I know in Sigma Pi are weird but maybe their new PCs are better I only know older guys from HS who were weird. House sucks and there isnt really a reason for girls to like them bc DSP is right next door. I think kinda like Phi Kap these guys dont really care about their reputation and just chill
OX: Imo OX is the 2nd best option for spring rush but they have a reputation for adding things to girls drinks ifkyk, but having people think that doesnt really actually lower your overall perception of how "good you are" bc of how big the student body is. Guys I know there are cool
ZBT: As far as I know this is their first semester back? Might get good, but maybe just wait until next fall.
Additional: People will try to talk about "national presence," or say that certain frats "arent allowed to drink" but neither of these matter at all. Every frat here drinks(other than uga) and national reputation doesn't matter unless you're planning on going back to your home state for work and the frat chapter at ur home state is like super good
Overall, just join wherever you like the guys. Don't worry about reputation unless thats something important to you. If youre normal and likeable people will like you and girls will fw you regardless of your chapter

This is good.
SigEp is clearly and by far #1 then followed by DTD OX and SP in whatever order you prefer.
If you don't get SigEp but some of the others bid you I would consider dropping but if you stick to it, it will probably be worth it. Dropping and rushing in the fall as a sophomore will probably get you better options though.

The fact that SigEp is even doing spring rush is very surprising. I agree if anyone else bids you (I would throw Phi Kappa and Lambda in there below those other 3 you mentioned to consider too), consider dropping and rushing in the fall first. They aren't bad groups at all but you're right unless you REALLY like the guys and fit in well you may have better options in the fall as a sophomore. SigEp is worth not waiting though, you take that any day.

People say to wait until you're a sophomore but there is a stigma with sophomores rushing. Unless you already know someone there you probably won't get a bid somewhere better than Beta, Pike, or Pi Kapp. And you might not get a bid there either those places still prefer freshman and bid sophomores last. And knowing someone doesn't guarantee you a spot somewhere else either. Also Sig Ep is only taking like 10 guys they're barely doing spring rush.

Sigep is half made up of cupcakes and can't drink on their own. They have really good pull and no beef with anyone so yeah they are obviously good but not that much better than OX LXA DTD SP or Phi Kapp.
Also most fraternities above mid in the fall try to get all freshmen classes unless you have an in with the fraternity or have a lot of money or are a legacy etc. these guys are great groups, if you feel you fit in and get along with everyone.

Sig Ep absolutely can drink by themselves, they have a bar in their basement and throw parties with alcohol all the time. Why are you making stuff up

Bro snuck DTD, Lambda and Phi Kapp in there. SP and OX are both respectable fraternities here and this is probably the last time SP does spring rush. They have more than 140 guys. Maybe OX too but they're only at around 120. That's still larger than Phi Kapp who has the most of other the three you mentioned. Sig Ep is still better than OX and SP but this is how the hierarchy shapes out for spring imo

SP tries and pretend that theyre even somewhat a good frat to end up in. Their parties have more dudes than girls cause girls dont care about them. They had a shot at being good but then decided to blanket bid everyone so even if youre one of the normal ones youre surrounded by weirdos who you have to pretend to be friends with.

Don’t know how DTD keeps getting grouped with SP and OX. Those two are significantly better and larger. Group them 2 and 3 however you like. Also Pledging definitely will be a lot harder during spring due to smaller PCs. Fall rush is a different beast though
