Why Ranks at UGA are Dumb

As one of the most popular SEC schools (florida and bama being the other 2 which are debatable for most popular) we have a top notch Greek life. Where most schools have 4 or 5 fraternities and sororities that would be good anywhere else we have close to a dozen, and probably even more, that would be top at any other school in the nation. If you are at least in a mid group you made it into what would've been a top stay or frat on any other campus.
Arguing who is where at that point is meaningless because you are debating between 12-14 groups that literally offer the same thing, except some groups maybe more legacy oriented but that's it.

At least for frats ranks do matter because some places have more money and can therefore do more. DTD and (current) LXA is not doing the same stuff as Chi Phi and Fiji. If you want to go to a place that's active on campus and has good events I would check ranks. Sorority ranks matter less because they are less expected to throw parties and have socials like fraternities do.
