How dumb are some houses?
by: MathWhy are “top houses” (who have some pretty homely girls on their ig) dirty rushing “rich” Atlanta girls all summer? OOS girls pay more than $50k a year to go to UGA, their parents can afford OOS tuition, but those top houses will never meet them if they are focused on the Zelle scholarship country club girls.

The members in these houses are also Atlanta girls and they are just rushing their friends from high school. A 'top' house just means that they can count on getting pretty much who they want in recruitment because a lot of the actives and the pnm's already know each other. It's just about return rates and no metric of the quality of the membership.
They don't care about your money. No sorority here does. Your OOS money doesn't make you 'top' or better or more desired in any way. That's a really presumptuous mindset and kind of tacky. If that's what you think you wouldn't fit in a lot of sororities here anyway. Besides, these are private school girls for the most part whose parents have already been paying $50K a year for as long as they've been in school and if they have the grades the Zelle scholarship money is there for them just like anyone in Georgia, merit-based not need-based. Go back to your own state school if being here is going to make you so bitter and jealous that you behave this way. You won't make any friends down here with that poor attitude.

NETWORKING IS THE REAL KING. Parents have already spent 600K for the private schools in Ga K-12. Private schools in Ga know private school kids in other close by states. Most of the parents I know think it is like getting a raise when their children go off to state school given how much they spent on school tuition, travel sports, country club dues when their children lived at home. The reality is read the room local court advantage/ a famous line "all politics is local." Most people able to afford to go through recruitment have the money for top or any other house but they do not have the connections. I always tell people from out of state to go to camp in the summers years before to establish connections in the state you want to select for a University. The reality is many people did not want Ga state schools as a first choice, so they did not plan ahead on building a network. Networking is key on everything to include recruitment for careers/jobs. Now you know chose your plans wisely for your career in the future. IF you had chosen to stay in your home state no doubt you would have known people good or bad.
