Are recs important at UGA?

I am sorority alum from totally different state and from a time when letters of rec and being a legacy held some weight. I teach in Georgia and have a number of former students that rush at their various schools. How important are letters of rec for girls from Georgia for houses that they don’t know any actives personally?

Recs hold as much weight as legacy, which is not much at all. But even pnm's with connections get their recs to rush here to make their options as strong as possible. A rec will never make up for no connections in a house, but at least shows interest and effort and could be a tie breaker if all things are equal between a girl with one and a girl without one.

No they are not taking into consideration as much as connections are.
