rankings
by: AdvicePay zero attention to the rankings on this site. There isn't a ranking system at UGA, therefore there cannot be a place to see REAL rankings. The posts are biased and reflect ONE personal opinion. You can be sure that a negative post comes from someone who 1) is jealous of a group or 2) holds a vendetta because of not getting a bid or 3)is an unhappy person trying to start trouble. This goes for sororities and fraternities . Go through rush, have a good time.....that'll be the only HONEST ranking.

Once mature and you're older than a Sophomore then you stop caring. It becomes very petty to look down on others or be secure. Your greek affiliation will be meaningless on your social stature when you graduate. Use the greek system as a way to to make life long friendships with like minded people.
I agree with the original poster.

Nobody cares after freshman year. Go through rush with an open mind, and choose a house where you feel comfortable!
Unfortunately, you can't get good info on sites like this because anyone who takes the time to post on here has an agenda. The really good houses don't have to beat others down, or self rank, to boost themselves up on social media. It's the houses that are falling and losing status that take time out of their lives to worry about what
is being said on social media. Unfortunately, they frequently seem to think that they can boost their house up it they knock others down.
Just relax and go through rush. It's really pretty easy to tell which houses have girls that are a good match for you. If you trust yourself, and don't go for the "popular" choice just because it"s what's expected, I assure you, you'll be happy. UGA has a very competetive rush and every house here is great. You just need to find which house is right for you.

During my rush experience, I had girls in my group asking each other where they thought they should go, and this is not a good idea. By pref round, you should come out almost 90% sure where you want to go, and if you're split, think about which one you want to see on your bid card. If you would like both, then you'll be happy either way. But rush is really what you make it, so go in with an open mind, a big smile and have a lot to talk about!!

This is great advice to have. I know a couple of girls going through this year at UGA and Alabama. Just checked Alabama's GR and all the Panhellenic girls have each other's backs it seems like. When people ask for ranks they shut them down.
We should do the same here. UGA is an AMAZING University with a great greek system, SEC so naturally it's awesome. People hang out with people in other sororities so let's be supportive of one another through this recruitment process. Cutting another house down does not do any house any favors. Remember that and Best of Luck to all the Sororities and PNMs!!!

Yup, which organization you are part of in particular really only matters your freshman year when you are being immersed in a group of other freshman trying to find a way to identify themselves to others and make themselves seem super cool. You will be much better off finding a group you actually fit in with and have fun with, as opposed to joining a "cool" group, feeling cool for a year, then becoming annoyed with shallow people for the rest of your college career.
