Is Alpha Xi Delta getting a house?

by: Soooooo

I’m surprised Alpha Xi hasn’t announced anything about a house. Don’t they need to find something soon if they want to be competitive in their first formal recruitment? Renovations to create a sorority house will likely take a couple of years too. Does anyone know if they are close to finding something?

They need to guarantee a membership level that will be able to sustain the cost of a house. Sorority nationals only help so much with loans, so lots of fundraising and some pretty steep dues need to be in place first. But they wouldn't have come on without a plan in place.

the problem is that there aren't any properties for sale on milledge.

There are several properties we are looking at. One is the lot with the dilapidated Tudor house, but that guy refuses to sell for some weird reason. Tax reasons, maybe? We will have competitive housing. Gamma Upsilon will be formally re-chartered next week.

I think people forget that it took alpha phi like two years to get a house and dphie hasn’t used their house at all. Our timeline is two years tops. Nationals has a good amount of money to put down, but there j aren’t alot of vacancies on milledge rn.

FYI Alpha phi purchased their house before they formally colonized.

ugh it doesnt matter. it's still the principle, regardless of when houses were purchased, it still took a considerable amount of time for them to be renovated and built. aphi does just about anything to defend their reputation and god forbid someone says something about their house. all of you need to take a chill pill.

DphiE used their house at first then straight went to renovation which was fully funded by their national as far as I know and now the renovation is ended (mostly) and opening in this fall recruitment official

Alpha Phi doesn’t need to protect it’s rep. it’s public knowledge that they purchased a home on Milledge before they colonized. It took almost two years to renovate it and the first colony members did not have an opportunity to live in it. That being said, it was 2017 and the housing market was very different than it is today. Anyone looking for a house these days will have a much more difficult time, but It won’t prevent this organization from accomplishing great things.

857 s milledge sold on 12/23. Did Axid or byx buy it? 997 milledge sold on 5/23 but they would have announced it if they had bought that one.

Axid should have snapped one of those up if they didn’t. They have a great group of really girls who are fun and they seem to actually like each other unlike a lot of the girls in sororities on campus who wear the letters but mostly hang out with friends not in greek life at all.
But they really do need to get a house asap.

Dphie just renovated, so it will be surprising if they are disbanded, and with so many girls wanting to rush because of Tiktok, they need more sororities not less. But… there was no warning in 2020 when they were disbanded at Georgia Southern. They had a brand new beautiful house and the girls had no warning. I wonder if another sorority took that house.

The houses at 857 and 997 are too small for a sorority and on small lots so no option for expansion.
