snap BIDS are given out on BID day. Hence the name.

Snap bids are uncommon and few are given out, so please don’t pin your hopes on a snap bid. That being said, snap bids happen after bid matching, but before bids are distributed, so except for the snapped PNM, a couple of officers in the sorority and in Panhel, no one else knows who received a snap bid. That girl will show up for bid distribution just like everyone else and will join in all the bid day activities.

There are very, very few snap bids here. The chapters that snap are the ones who didn't make quota after bid matching, and their snaps almost always go to the pnm's who they carried through house tours but who dropped from the process before pref. Second choice for snaps would be for pnms they wanted for pref but who went to other prefs and then SIP'd and didn't get matched. If you are released from a sorority it is very unlikely that you would get a snap bid from them.

other posters are correct - snaps are kept on the dl and very, very few are given out. not a recruitment strategy for pnms.
