Spring rush/cob bid
by: UgaHey so I know it is way too early but I was wondering how I can prepare for spring rush/cob? I really want to be involved in greek life and wondered what I can do to make sure I can get a bid? I have a bunch of friends and should I start telling them I am interested so that they can have that in mind when their sororities announce cob? Will having a lot of friends in certain sororities help boost my chances? Is there an idea of which chapters are doing spring rush and how many spots are there usually? Like I said I know it’s really early but I’m just curious so that I can prepare cause I really want to be in a sorority.

Yes, tell your friends you are going to rush in the spring. Maybe they can ask you to have lunch or dinner at their houses this semester and introduce you to their sisters-it def can help. STUDY and get good grades. Join a club or two-if it’s a club with a lot of sorority girls, even better. Protect your rep-don’t make a name for yourself with someone’s boyfriend, at a fraternity party, etc.

There may not be an 'announcement' from some houses who will just offer bids quietly. Don't expect a mini spring rush week. Who you know and what they think of you is key. The sororities will know more about their open spots after this semester when they see who drops and who graduates in December.
