Why is everyone dropping Theta??
by: ???I thought theta was one of the top houses but everyone I’ve talked to keeps dropping them. Did something happen?? Panicking bc I thought that’s what I wanted to pledge but I don’t want a bad pledge class

Theta invited a TON of PNMs back for house tours, so I think a lot of girls who don’t have connections to the chapter are ranking them low based on the assumption that Theta will be doing major cuts after today.
It doesn’t sound like they’re having the best recruitment so far, but most PNMs would still rather end up in Theta than any of the mid/bottom houses.

if they invited that many back it means they had to because their return rate is low and they need more in the mix to get to quota. so call them top tier all you want - it’s all just what you’re looking for. but they historically don’t do great with the numbers behind all of it.

You won’t get a “bad” pledge class at Theta or anywhere else. Think about all the PNMs you’ve met this week - unless you honestly think you’re somehow better than >90% of them, you’ll probably think your pledge class is great wherever you end up once you get to know them.
Even if Theta doesn’t get the #1 top pledge class this year, they’ll still end up with a good group of new members just like every other sorority here.

If you think you 'dropped' a house you are mistaken. The sororities do the choosing so if they didn't show up on your schedule it was their decision not yours. And no one know if anyone invited 'a TON of PNMs back for house tours.' No one has access to data on other houses. Don't fall for posts that use made up data.

No, that's not how it works. Pnm's rank, they do not drop. The only time a pnm's ranks matter is if more houses want her back than a particular round allows. That's when a pnm's lower ranked houses drop off, and it's the only time. But the vast majority of pnm's have houses that they ranked low keep showing back up on their schedules. This is because they were dropped by their higher ranked ones and the lower ones move up to try to make a full schedule. Most pnm's don't get back a full schedule, ever. And any pnm invited to a sorority pref must be on their bid list, so this is when final decisions happen in the chapters and the last big drops happen. The houses call the shots in recruitment.

Girls drop houses all the time… a sorority might want you to come back for pref, but if the PMN doesn’t list them then that means the PNM dropped the sorority
