Cuts after each round and bids?

by:

Which houses are the hardest to get bids from? Also what factors determine who are called back (esp after the first round)? Do our videos actually carry that much weight or is it mostly based on gpa, recs, involvement, who you know, etc.?

Videos do carry some weight when actives don't already know you. Recs help because they show that you cared enough about a house to get one, but what the rec says about you is not going to get you to the next round. GPA's are all high or none of you would be here, same with resumes, and who you know always helps but all those are a done deal by now and nothing you can do about them. After first round it's all about how you present yourself in person - looks, style, confidence, poise, conversation, good manners. Be interesting enough to stand out from all the others and be interested in every person you talk to at each house. Be positive; don't mention how hot you are, how tired you are, how nervous you are, how confused or overwhelmed you are, etc; that's not going to distinguish you. Every house is looking for three things: cute, sweet, fun.

Most importantly be yourself!! And PLS don’t listen to “rankings” they are ridiculous. Just go where you think you would fit in and be happy :)

Unfortunately there’s additionally factors out of sororities control that have to do with retention. Retention rate from years past will determine how many girls chapters cut after each round (aka how many pnms who ranked that they did/didn’t want to go back to those houses). Old row and chapters who just put on good recruitment historically are allowed the highest cuts
