How Fraternity Rankings Work

I transferred from another school last fall not ung last fall and Im just wondering why people rank how it is now? I thought it was who had the best quality of guys they bring in, best brotherhood/pledgeship, best parties consistently, do the most stuff, and are the most well known.
Ever since i moved here all i see here is that certain chapters are top or mid just because they take ung students, or there house isnt as clean or big, or that some chapters blanket bid but yet someone makes them “top” (you know who), or they are old row, or because they are rich, or because they only take legacies which is a dumb reason since any legacy can be weird. Most of these reasons are terrible and its a consistent trend ive been seeing. I often hear about chapters that have brothers that dont even like there own pledge brothers and they are top or close to being top. Im obviously not gonna say or brag what tier my new chapter is since ive moved here last fall but since ive seen the rankings there are ones that shouldnt even be in the same tier. Lmao give me a break.

The reason why the ranks look like they do is because fraternities like PKP SN and Fiji flood the discussion page over ranking themselves, and fill their ranks page with their own reviews.
Groups like SPE, AEPi, BTP, PDT, SX are actually top 5 or close to it. Since they know that they DGAF about this site and are constantly under ranked, while mid groups like SN Fiji and PKP over rank themselves into the top 10.

I wouldn't say those groups are top 5 but they are definitely top 10. PKP SN and Fiji do the most. PKP and SN have bad retention rates for a reason, blanket bid a bunch of rando's promising them lies and that's bound to happen.

You’re delusional if you think those groups are top 5 or you’re just lying to yourself. Anyone who actually goes to UGA and knows anything about UGA Greek life knows that SN and FIJI are definitely top 5 groups in terms of chapter size, sorority connects, and brotherhood. They definitely self rank a bit but they are definitely top 5 groups. Calling SN and FIJI “mid” just shows that you’re in denial

Good point sorority connections and brotherhood do matter but chapter size isnt that huge of a factor. Better to have 100 quality guys than have 140 not so great. Numbers always come later
