Can someone explain the bottom tiers?
by: Confused
I know there will always be some sororities that people like the least, but could anyone ACTUALLY explain why these are always ranked mid/bottom and never in the top:
- DG
- Pi Phi
- AGD
- APhi
- SDT
- DPE
- GPB
- SK
- AXO

In my opinion most of these sororities just don’t have a distinct “niche” and lack a core region/personality/look etc that they focus on recruiting (aside from sdt). They end up having more of a mixed bag which makes them hard to rank. All of these sororities are hard to distinguish from each other because a lot of the girls could have just as likely rushed another mid-bottom tier and fit in fine.

pi phi, alpha phi, axo, gamma phi, and sk are all seen as great srats. A lot of these girls are perceived as more “down to earth” than the top tiers. They don’t have as strong of a social media influence as the top, but are honestly just as good.
The top tier is always old row (and sometimes kd, zeta, and aoii slip in bc of their clout). To get into those you need either really good connections, a lot of money, or an “influencer” type of instagram.
The houses that you listed that were not specified are usually seen as the bottom because there is not much competition to get into them. Very high acceptance rates and very inclusive!

"Old Row" really is only at Bama, but some people here will use that phrase, too. Some of the UGA "Old Row" sororities are not actually the oldest on campus, so the hijacked phrase really doesn't fit. Maybe someone can come up with a more creative phrase that is also more legit. After all, we are smarter than Bama students.

Most of GR is written by alums who are hell bent on helping their sorority look even better than it did in the late 90s when there were here. Houses that have girls with lots of self confidence and who don't feel the need to revisit their college sorority ranking every day then their house is ranked lower. Successful happy women don't spend time on GR. The higher proportion of bored housewife alums, the higher the rankings for the sorority on GR

That makes sense. I also hear the same things though from current UGA students, both greek and non-greek, so I assume there is some truth to the rankings
