Tri delta legacy
by: PNMHi!!! I just got accepted into UGA a few days ago and I have decided that I want to rush. My mom was a tri delta at Ole Miss. Does anyone know if tri delta is super selective during rush and if they always let legacies in? I’m a little nervous since I’m OOS. Also what kind of vibe does tri delta here at uga have??

I don’t think that you being OOS matters. They have a good amount of OOS girls. Having a legacy definitely helps, but like the other commenter said, it doesn’t guarantee you a bid. Tri delta knows what kind of girl they want, so if you click with them during recruitment and you have good grades and extracurriculars and you are nice, then great, but don’t have your heart set on only tri delt because you are a legacy. And honestly I don’t know what kinda vibe they have. Maybe someone else can tell you that lol

I was a legacy and was dropped first round. Honestly if you're going through recruitment and plan on doing what your mom did then I think you need to re-evaluate whether it's a good environment to be in. Go through recruitment with an open mind and end up somewhere that's a good fit for you. If that ends up being somewhere where you're a legacy then that'll be cool to share but the process won't be the best if you're already restricting yourself going into it when you don't even know what the house is like.

The best way to look at being a legacy is that the ONLY thing guaranteed is that you won't be a girl who they like but slips through the cracks and gets lost in the shuffle of all the other girls. That won't happen if you're a legacy.
But other than that, it doesn't play that much of a role. They still have to think you're a good fit. I would not set my hopes on tri delta.

Not necessarily. There are so many legacies going through recruitment now that it doesn’t have the influence that it used to. Some sororities no longer give any consideration to legacies at all and it’s very possible you could get dropped by Tri Delt after round 1.
