Trans/Non-Binary in sororities
by: HelloDo any sororities accept trans or non binary members?
#3 by: Probably not
Sorry that would be weird for most fraternities trying to mix with sororities. It's just going to make them question whether there are more members who are also trans. Most guys don't want to romantically interact with biological males who identify as female.

If you are trans/binary then you do you, and all peace and happiness to you in your life. While a lot of sororities' nationals have adopted policies that state that if someone identifies as female then they are eligible for a bid, it is always the chapter's decision on their own membership. UGA is not a school where a sorority chapter would be open to trans/binary members. There are plenty of chapters at liberal schools up north that would, but this school is far more traditional in outlook. God bless you, but you and I are NOT the same flavor of girl and my sorority is just not going to be the inner circle for you like it is for me.

I can understand not wanting them to join sororities or use female bathrooms, that puts people in possible trouble. At the same time just leave them be and wish the best for them. Everyone gets confused and some are more so than others, if transitioning helps them then why be against that?

Hi!! To all of you incels on here being transphobic, I’m ashamed to be the same species as you. Sororities here are intolerant so probably not unless you pass really well. It’s less about whether you’re nb or trans and more about how you look. A few sororities might want you as a member tho
#9 by: STFU both of you...
Honestly both sides of the argument sound dumb and ignorant AF rn...
How are you going to say that people with a transitional surgery are going to possibly r@¶€ a female when they no longer have a male member to do so? That's just fear mongering to the MAX...
An earlier poster brought up a great point. If someone with/without a surgery out of the blue decides they're a girl now, how can you expect them to relate or understand female issues or females in general? Their entire life and experience has been male, don't you think that might cause a disconnect with the rest of the sorority?
If people can just decide they're a girl one day then a boy the next, can't they be a part of both a fraternity and a sorority? WTF is going to happen with that when the lines are so blurred? Especially when frat's and srat's were built on the foundation of those lines?
