Updated Tiers PC 20

I know there are already a ton of posts/comments on here saying how the lower ranked houses all did really well this year, but I haven’t seen a full rank that takes that into account.
Basically, I’ve combined most of the mid/lower mid houses into a single tier (although the order within tiers is pretty subjective)
2 specific notes about this rank:
1) SK and Chi O could be considered in between mid/lower top, but I didn’t want to creat a separate tier for just those 2. SK had a good rush, but they still lose a lot of PNMs to both DDD and Zeta. Chi O is relying on their past reputation and social calendar (obviously before the ‘rona), but literally no one under the age of 40 cares about old row anyone and they honestly look like an average mid tier house IMO.
2) yes I put APhi as bottom tier, and I know all the self ranking APhis on here are going to downvote my post. The reason I consider them lower is that even know they recruit heavily on looks (and genuinely did get a cute PC), they have to sacrifice in other areas to maintain that image. Personally wise, they’re still just what you’d expect from a new chapter, and PNMs who have other options just don’t rank them high. It’s also not really valid to say that they’re more successful than Pi Phi, Alpha Gam, AXO, and DG when they’re not going after the same type of PNMs at all. Until APhi starts getting PNMs who rank them higher than the chapters they’re trying to look like (KD, DDD, DZ etc...) or until they establish their own unique vibe, I still don’t think it makes sense to rank them higher even though they do successfully cut PNMs who aren’t skinny and hot.
Top: KD, Theta, Kappa, AOPi, ADPi
Lower Top: Phi Mu, DDD, Zeta,
Mid: SK, Chi O, DZ, GPhi, Phi Phi, Alpha Gam, DG, AXO
Bottom: APhi, DPhiE, SDT

Pi phi did great for sure, but they def didn’t pass DZ. DZ didn’t get their best PC, but they’re still a really solid mid/upper mid tier house while Pi Phi has struggled recently (but PC 20 definitely brings them out of the lower mid group!)

just bc pi phi does better compared to their recent years doesn’t mean they get to move up. you have to consider who they are are where they’ll end up. if you compare them to where they were then yeah they did better but it’s not enough. dz has always been solid in their placement and still is. so maybe move them up but they shouldn’t go before dz

Serious business coming from a fraternity guy. A phi picked up some fine ladies . That’s a fact . Last time I checked it’s pretty damn difficult getting into UGA (?was for me and probably all of us ) Everyone has something going for them just to be here .

It really does seem like they ~only~ recruit based on looks. I’m in a mid tier house and was on our recruitment committee this year and saw several of our round 1 grade cuts end up in APhi.
We also cut a legacy before pref who ended up there, and I was absolutely shocked to see that any sorority would offer her a bid. The legacy was a really tough cut to get approved since her mom is a very involved alumnae - so that speaks to how bad she was.

For some reason a lot of PNMs really liked DDD this year and they got several cheerleaders. Totally agree that KD is not #1 though!!!

The biggest problem with DDD is that PNMs who keep getting back to traditionally top tier houses almost never choose DDD. They aren’t respected by top tier PNMs for whatever reason, so even though they’re definitely the best mid tier house, they haven’t been able to effectively compete against the real top houses.
They do get a lot of cheerleaders/dance dawgs though which helps them somewhat, they’re just definitely not top tier at this point.

Have you seen their PC yet? They’re definitely not bottom tier anymore. I wouldn’t rank them higher than AXO, but they’re obviously higher than DPhiE and SDT. Based on how all the chapters look right now, I agree with OP that all the mid/previously lower tier stats are similar quality overall
