Should i be in a fraternity?

It’s been a week since I signed my bid card, and I’m anxious about what being in a fraternity is all about. I’m excited but also nervous? I’ve only been with these guys a week (which is standard) and now I’m supposed to go through pledgship with them also? Just a little nervous, excited though!

I am an alum from a sorority, but I think you should think about what made you decide to join whether its friends, service work, social events etc. If you can not think of a reason then my advice is to stop going through the initiation process because it is alot of time/money/energy. Hazing also should not happen and if it does, or you are uncomfortable at any point you should reach out to campus resources such as an RA or the office of student conduct. Hope that helps.
