Getting dropped

by: Sad

I don’t know what to do because all of my top houses have dropped me exept one. I had over 10 letters of rec and still the houses I have left I had no letters of rec. and now going into round 3 I only have 3 houses left... I will only accept 1 house and I don’t know what else to do this is so early to know that

I'm sorry you were dropped but you should give all the houses on your list a chance. Most houses have a cut once, cut forever policy so your chance of getting in at a later date is slim.

That maybe true but umm many sororities have a quota for how many sophomores, juniors seniors etc they have. It may be an old row house or a stuck up top house that does it but honestly I never heard of it. Tri delt gave girls bids when they had that whole “predicament” with those snitches. DZ, SK and KD (pi phi I think) did spring bids.

There was a girl once that rushed purely for an experiment to see how it worked and she rushed and dropped until she got in kd. She didn’t look like a KD and didn’t even look like a sorority girl but she got in and dropped in the spring her freshman year. It proved that some sororities choose girls to meet quota, i.e cob or snap bid. This wasn’t recent and she graduated in 2019. If you drop girls know it could be an external factor other than “it wasn’t my top house”. So saying “most” chapters is a stretch. There plenty of opportunities to get in a sorority after rush. Some girls drop and they need ppl to pick their place to meet quota. It’s not gaursntd and it’s always unpredictable.

You don't have a clue what a "quota" is or how sorority recruitment/membership works at all. So STFU with your terrible advice to this girl.

How is spring rush done?

It will depend and this year could be an anomaly. Would guess more houses will do spring rush due to fall actives not returning. It is a gamble and you still may end up with nothing. Be open minded.

There is not a spring rush exactly, there is only COB, which means there is not an organized rush by panhellenic where you rush at all the houses like in fall. Chapters that have a few openings will issue bids on the DL to girls that are already "in" with them or may not issue any bids at all, chapters that want to take more than a few may have some invitation only events, and chapters that want larger numbers may advertise an open house or other event. Your best chance at getting a bid is during formal fall rush.

Don’t drop. All the houses are great. Tons of girls. You will find your people within those walls. Sisterhood is worth it.

Be open minded. A top house to one person is a bottom house to another. Find where YOU fit in and where you can be comfortable. There are all different types of girls in all houses. Rankings on this site don’t mean a thing.
