Old Row Srats???

You’re getting the entire sorority’s founding dates mixed up with the date the UGA chapter was founded. Pi Phi was nationally founded in 1867 but wasn’t founded at UGA until 1939. This is the UGA founding dates for the UGA old row sororities:
Phi Mu - 1921
Chi O - 1922
ADPI - 1933
Theta - 1936
Kappa - 1948
Technically Kappa is the one that shouldn’t be included, and there are other houses like AGD, founded at UGA in 1923, or Tri Delt founded in 1934 that technically should’ve made the cut first if the “old row” thing was actually about founding dates. But TBH I have a hunch that it really actually has something to do with the placement of the houses. Ever notice that ADPI, Phi Mu, Chi O, Theta, & Kappa are all in a row on the right-hand side of Milledge? (DG & DPhiE only recently occupied houses on that same stretch too.)

Old row frats aren’t based chronologically either. UGA frat foundings:
Beta - 1846
Sigma Chi - 1865
Chi Phi - 1867
KA - 1868
Phi Delt - 1871
Fiji - 1871
SAE - Didn’t get here til wayyy later in 1904

It’s just how traditions work. You go to a traditional southern school rushing, expect long standing traditions.
