Chances of getting top sorority w no connections?
by: BruhI’m rushing this fall and want to get into a top sorority but I don’t know my chances bc I don’t know any girls in the top sororities. Before I say anything I’m not trying to flex, just gauge my chances well. I’d say I’m pretty attractive, not like drop dead gorgeous but you know lmao, I travel a lot, I have a few designer things (not just the LV keychain purse, like actual stuff), I have a really good high school GPA, I have a personality w substance but like I’m not over the top outgoing, I avg like 700 likes on insta but I don’t have that many followers, like I interview well and I have a good fashion sense so I think I’ll handle rush week fine I just know some sororities pretty much pick their entire pc before rush even starts so like would I still have a chance at like adpi, kappa, theta, kd even though I don’t know any girls?

Regardless of what someone says on here you’re really not gonna know until you go through rush :/ no point in speculating and getting your hopes up or worrying a lot before but getting in where you want. Like posting on a website that’s about 69% BS anyway wont give you any clarity

my best piece of advice to out of staters is to try and find either an active that you have mutual friends with or find a UGA top tier alum (facebook, linkedin, etc) to write you a rec. i’m from far out of state and did a little asking around at the end of senior year and found a girl in my area who was friends with a girl in my class and she was in a good sorority at uga, we met for coffee, she liked me and so she vouched for me during rush and i ended up going that house! chances are somebody you know knows somebody.

unless ur a small town southern girl, u will not be getting adpi i’m sorry to tell u that. regardless, if u want any old row sorority u basically need to be a legacy, have a lot of recs, and actually know people in the sorority. seems like ur just concerned w having clout & popularity but go thru rush and i bet u will change ur mind.

i think her point is the OP sounds like she's trying to flaunt everything about her from her designer clothes to her instagram likes. it takes more than that to get into an old row sorority, not just being rich...

A girl I knew in high school asked my older sister (in KD but not at UGA) for a rec like 2 weeks before UGA recruitment started. The girl ended up in Phi Mu but I can't imagine she had many connections (not from the south) based on how late she was looking for recs. Basically it's not a total crap shoot but just do what you can as soon as you can to make your odds better, right?

If you don't have some type of real connectin or "in", you will MOST likely not get an old top tier sorority. That is a fact. Unless you get VERY lucky. A lot of girls come from money and are cute and have big brand purses,etc. You Have to Have an IN or someone to connect with or you will not get in adpi, kappa, or phi mu. If you are lucky and really awesome, you might get kd, aopi, aphi, chi o, or sk.
RUSH SUCKS and you can't trust the process.

You have to MEET someone or have connections to get an IN. You can't just get recs and depend on that to get in the popular sororities. It really sucks, but that is the way it works. Most of the time it is based on who you know because there are way too many people rushing. A lot of sororities have fun girls that are nice, so don't worry if you aren't in one of the Most popular. They get kind of stuck with some very specific groups a lot so you miss out on some cool people. It usually works out okay even though for most people they don't get their initial top choices.
