rushing w/o connections?

hi i’m sorry if this is a dumb question or if i’m getting ahead of myself. i’m from south FL and i’m a first gen college student so i don’t really know anyone in greek life to write me recs. i know that coming to uga that i at least wanna rush and give it a shot, even if greek life doesnt end up being for me!
am i gonna get dropped by most houses after round 1 without any connections ? i’m smart, easy to talk to, and i like to think i’m cute and dress well too. do i have any hope or is rush here really that intense?

You will probably meet some girls you like that also like you. You will not get a top tier group unless you have connections in the sorority, or are from a Rich well known group in Atlanta, or Wow them with your extreme beauty and charm. Some sororities might take you, but just know. Srats at uga for freshman involve trying to get dates for date nights and are all full of cliques. Try not to get caught up on hooking up with guys and getting drunk which is common for a lot of srat freshman girls. You will need a fake id so you can go out and get drunk downtown. Just don't drink so much you throw up or hook up with weird guys.
