tridelt needs to stepup & not blame others

by:

Tridelt needs to step up and not blame other people for one of their own sister's putting something out there to make them look bad. They also have to take a hard look at how they handle bid day and underage drinking. I'm sure the nationals will make sure that happens, or they will be kicked out of UGA Greek LIfe. This is important for all sororities to change their behavior. This isn't about the person that turned in the information.

I just want to say that I don't think anyone thinks less of DDD for this. They are still a good house with good women (even those who were kicked out) and this certainly could have happened to any of us. But it was inevitable that a sorority would eventually get caught somehow; it just happened to be them. And whoever turned them in was not in the wrong here. So let's simply move forward, without judging DDD OR whoever turned them in, and understand once and for all the repercussions that ARE going to happen if every sorority doesn't make some changes right away. None of us have any business having alcohol around on bid day, or making it available to our newest members, or allowing any hint of it on social media. To do otherwise in this day and age is just stupidly suicidal. Yes, there is social drinking in college and that's not going away, but sororities need to start turning around the ever-growing public perception of us primarily being drinking clubs. We all have so much more to offer than that and God knows we don't get the good publicity nearly as much as we get the bad.

I think that it's far better for a sorority's nationals to step in and handle this kind of situation than for the university to get involved. The school's administrators would be far less forgiving and more likely to make an example and kick off the entire chapter, whereas a national office would much rather discipline as needed to ensure the chapter stays in place with hopefully no further trouble.

Uga has not acted ...yet. It is unclear what uga’s penalty will be.

It is really sad how some are responding to this. Those tri delta that are trying to defend what happened really are making the house look worse.

Honestly I think it's their moms and alums on here with their misdirected righteous anger. These women have to be somewhat complicit themselves for encouraging it or turning a blind eye to it and now trying to blame whoever turned them in.

Help me understand how the moms and alums are responsible. Do your moms or alums attend bid day? Hell, what if they did? It would be very different.

Tri Delts made a bad decision and got caught b/c a girl didn’t realize how serious what she posted is. Joke or not, it had to be taken seriously. There is no context in the internet. We all need to learn from this. Dry bid days are not a bad thing. Postpone partying until the weekend. We make sororities look stupid when girls don’t show to classes or show up still drunk. It is one day!!

This is exactly the way a reasonable person would see this situation!!

What sororities actually care about this anymore? I know mine doesn’t. DDD has great girls and sisterhood. Yes, it’s unfortunate what happened but it’s old news.
