is ka actually southern?

KA members in most schools tend to be predominantly more southern, but are they actually slave owning plantation lords? No, but seems like they like to dress up and pretend to be a couple times a year, which you would think would no longer be celebrated. Don't understand how KA order, society or fraternity still exists. How long before a photo of UGA HFC shows up from his college days in plantation garb with a hooped skirt date on his arm? Hope he's not in blackface.

They exist because their alumni, usually from a wealthy background by southern standards, donate a lot to UGA, and I'm willing to bet some of them work in high positions in UGA's administration. Because of that, KA gets a lot of leeway and Greek Life rep. The traditions and political views of KA members in this school that may be not tolerable in today's society stays behind closed doors. And so far, they're doing an alright job of doing that. Unlike TKE.
But take a look at Ole Miss KA. The 3 KA guys got caught with the Emmett Till statue holding a guns and they got suspended I believe. Sooner or later, something like that might happen here at UGA. Maybe not now, but down the line.
