north georgia freshman pledging at uga

I have heard from several guys they will be freshman at North Georgia living in Athens and pledging UGA fraternities. How does this work? Sounds kind of crazy.

See IFC Recruitment Rule #1. "Only enrolled UGA students may participate in formal recruitment, participate in a new member program, and/or join a fraternity." Neither you nor any North Georgia student will ever be in a fraternity @ UGA.

I am enrolled for fall at UGA. I am just saying what some guys from my high school who are going to North Georgia are saying. They are telling me they have bids from UGA fraternities. They hope to transfer to UGA as sophomores but are pledging this coming fall as freshman while enrolled at North Georgia. That sounds crazy to me and it sounds like they are not supposed to be doing this.

Sigma Chi has at least one UNG pledges. I have heard, but do not know, that lambchops and kappa sig each have one.

So what about spring admits? Can they go through rush or get a bid? I have heard rumors about bids being handed out to kids entering in January. Does everyone do this?
