Does rushing my sophomore year for a sorority hurt my chances at top houses? I heard only alpha phi and dphie take second years

Sophomores have their own quota- separate from freshmen, so every sorority will take some sophomores. It is important though that you try to have some in-house connections to the chapters you are interested in!

that’s not true! every sorority has upper class girl quotas they have to meet so every house has to take sophomores. it does help to know some girls in the houses already so they can root for you during recruitment though!

Nobody HAS to take anybody. Sorority quota is the maximum number a house is allowed to take, not a required minimum. Every house wants/needs to take freshman quota, but it's a little different for upperclassmen and houses may elect to not take up to quota unless they feel every one of them is a good fit.
