be honest, how much difference does top or bottom mak
by: Confused pnm
Pnm here. I'm coming from a super small town. Got into to UGA, so smart :) really high 3 GPA but I don't feel like I reallt stick out. I'm not just wanting to join for parties or boys or anything. I just want to know how my experience would be different than being in a top/winning everything/ swapping with the top guys.
I've just heard stories of guys just not even showing up to "lower" houses.
I know this sounds shallow. And also I'm not super competitive but I'd like to be in a house that actually wants to try. Ugh this sounds stupid. Any REAL experiences?

Real bottom tier houses don't at all have the same social life. Also depending on the house, the "best" and "worst" can have good or bad sisterhood. Houses that are considered the lowest won't have as full of a social calendar and yeah Ive heard of guys blowing off events.

Okay, I differ in the opinion of the above 2 responses. I think there are many of the 19 sororities that have great socials and interactions with a variety of frats. Most sororities have a lot of weekly socials and some semis and a spring formal. You don't have to be in the top few most "popular" sororities to have a great experience and a great sisterhood. The sororities are large and have a lot of different girls. You should be able to find friends and supports in most any of them. Give it a chance and go with your gut at rush. Some very extreme sororities decide a lot about who they want as things happen over the summer and when people register, but don't let that deter you, if you want to give it a try.

Works both ways. My friend was in a top three sorority and she said some of the "top fraternities" often didn't show up and if they did, they only talked to the girls they knew from high school or that were "worthy" of them and were pretty rude to the rest of the girls. There will be slights going back and forth -- sometimes it's guy slights and sometimes it's girl slights.
