fraternity ranks 2019
by: UGA Student
Ok, so first of all let me say ranks do not matter and with the exception of some bottom tier houses you want to steer clear of, every chapter here has something to offer to anyone considering rushing. You should go to the house that shows you the best time and that you feel fits you best. I am going to group the fraternities into four groups because ranking within groups gets difficult and is hard to make completely accurate.
TOP
KA, SAE, Chi Phi, Fiji, Sigma Nu
Ok starting off with the top houses, these are typically the houses with the best social calendar who throw good parties and are typically involved on campus heavily. Not all of these houses have the best reputations on campus, but they are certainly the most selective if you do not have connections. Overall will have strong brotherhood and know how to have a good time and you cant go wrong here. each house is different, but they are all well regarded.
TOP MIDDLE
ATO, Sigma Chi, Phi Delt, Beta, Delta Sig,
The houses here are houses that are above the rest of the middle due to their strong social schedules, campus involvement, and parties. Most of these houses are either strongly on the rise with better and better pledge classes each year, or are houses that are in and out of the top tier. You really cant go wrong with any of these houses either as each offers a different group of solid guys. Campus involvement at this level is still very strong, just a step below those listed above and these fraternities still pull in many of the same sororities on their schedule as top houses. Any house in these top two categories is a smart place to look first when rushing in the summer/fall.
BOTTOM MIDDLE
AGR, Lambda, Kappa Sig, AEPi, Pi Kapp, Sigma Pi, TEP, PIKE, Sig Ep
These houses are still great houses to consider, but some offer more of a niche group of guys (AGR/Sig Ep) so are not for everyone. These houses are often seen as a second choice to those who did not get a bid from a fraternity in the top two groups, but they are still very solid, They have decent social schedules and still know how to have a great time. More of a "bro" vibe on this level than a fraternity feel but still something for people to consider. Also, campus involvement takes a steep decline here, but that is primarily due to houses being smaller and/or newer.
BOTTOM
Chi Psi, DTD, Phi Psi, Phi Tau, TKE, Theta Chi
Houses on this level are for people who are desperate not to be a GDI and in most cases are not a good decision. Nothing personal, these houses just have very small membership, minimal campus involvement, and lacking social schedules. Still probably better than being a GDI since you get a built in friend group when you get to college, but after that it is not ideal. Still, if you rush here and feel that you really fit in you should go for it, just not for everybody.

lmao even though theta chi is suspended they don't belong on that bottom line, they have socials with the same sororities as the line above for the most part. Create a new line right between bottom middle and bottom and call it "better than being a GDI" With theta chi, tep, sigma pi and AGR(SP and Tep especially have no right to be on that line.) they all have some relevance and have their moments but not enough to fit in with bottom middle.
I think other than that this is good. I feel like the bottom always gets messed up because some of the houses aren't relevant enough to judge.
