What was your gpa and sat score before getting into uga? Did you have a lot of extracurricular activities?

This was 2 years ago, but I had like a 3.81 UGA GPA (kinda low tbh), 11 AP classes ( 2 sophomore, 4 junior, 5 senior) , bunch of honor classes, and 1410 on the SAT superscored. My EC's were okay but I had a good amount I put on the resume like the honor societies I was in and etc. I was very passionate about orchestra, football, and being a social studies tutor though. Got rejected EA due to my SAT scores , and got in RD, since I retested and got my SAT score higher (UGA superscore). Wrote my essays on the EC's I mentioned above. I forgot what I wrote about exactly tho. but I know it involved my EC's and my personal experience. I also had a really well written recommendation from my counselor and my AP World History teacher.

You count 4 for A, 3 for B etc. Only count the 4 core areas plus language. Nothing else gets counted. Only give yourself a bump (i.e., 5 for an A) if (1) it is AP or IB and (2) there was no extra credit already factored into your grade. Do not give a grade bump if it is Pre-Ap, Honors, Dual Credit. You can find this information on the Admissions blog, but I went through it in detail last year. I'm from out of state and the way my school did things, my gpa was pretty low for UGA (4.0 on their scale). I still got in EA because they know my school and that an A in an Honors class is actually really hard to get...so don't freak out about it too much. They are also looking at your school, its reputation and the rigor.

I had a 3.8 gpa . I took almost all AP classes junior and senior year, played lacrosse, did a lot of volunteer work, and was inducted into the national honors society. My SAT score was 1460. If you push yourself in high school and have activities outside of school then you shouldn't worry about getting into uga.

It also depends on where you went to high school. For example, a lot of metro atlanta public high schools have A LOT of applicants to UGA, so someone with a 3.8 at one of those schools may not get in just because they can only accept so many, so it’s a little more competitive and therefore many qualified students unfortunately do get rejected. But if you’re from a smaller private school or not as big public... most students with qualified GPA’s/ extra curriculars get in since there is not as much competition!

If the guy had a 3.8 uga GPA with a lot of ap classes, honors along with a decent SAT Score + EC's, he would probably get in if he came from a metro atlanta (NORTH ATLANTA SUBURB) High school
