It’s nothing against youtubers or their sororities, but I agree with you. The whole idea of what they do is posting their “normal everyday lives” in a way that appeals to their viewers, except it’s so very fake. Even if they don’t mean to be fake, they’re literally building their lives around how to film what they do in a way that gets a lot of viewers and sponsorships, but that’s not how real life works for everyone else. I have a friend from high school who is trying to get into vlogging/insta model life and the irony is that the more followers she gets, the less she actually interacts with the real world. She literally has maybe 5 people that are always in her videos but pretty much no one else ever sees her anymore. I heard that she recently started taking antidepressants which seems totally different from how she was a year ago.

I really hope that all these youtubers honestly like what they do, and if not, that they’ll gain the maturity to realize there’s much more to life than making it look cool to strangers on the internet.

But honestly she probably comes off weird because she's acting half the time. The videos are things her youtube agent is telling her to put up. But people watch and she gets paid soooo heck I'd do it too if people wanted to watch me open up forever21 packages.
