Don't worry about this at all. Yes the sororities have slideshows with girls they ALREADY know (friends from high school, family, etc) but these slideshows have 200-300 girls on them and one pledge class is 67-85 most likely! There are a lot of girls going through rush who aren't on some slideshows but a sorority could LOVe during rush. Just because you're not on their radar doesn't mean you don't have a chance, for the most part.

The slideshows are basically powerpoints that the sororities have of girls with their pictures, where they're from and high school (sometimes more or less info also). This varies between the sororities but everyone I know does it. This sounds a lot more scary than it really is. They are used for girls to send in people they already know who will be going through rush and would really love for them to be in that sorority or would like for other girls to give them a second look! This makes it easier for the whole chapter to be more accquainted with girls names and faces beforehand. But again, they are REALLY long slideshows with lots of girls and 20% of them or less will actually end up in that sorority. Just because you aren't on someone's doesn't necessarily mean you won't be in that sorority. You also will never know if you're on a sororities slideshow, which makes it a little intimidating and also a little fun to guess :)

Did you go to any of the spring parties with girls from a specific sorority or hang out with them? If you know, you know. They're not super sneaky about interest but they won't promise anything. They'll hint at it. There's always rumors that house like adpi and phi my have bid lists already set before rush

Here is a description of the "RADAR"
The top four houses Kappa, Phi Mu, AD Pi and Theta all go after the same pool of girls. Most of the recruiting in these houses is done through referrals from existing members rather than alumni rec letters from your mom's friends. Do not let anyone convince you differently. Lets say a couple of Kappas really like a PNM. They start commenting favorably on her Instagram posts this summer to create goodwill. Phi Mu and AD Pi are independently looking at the instagrams of PNMs. They come across the girl who has favorable comments from the Kappas they know. Now you have a "hot PNM" that Kappa, AD Pi and Phi MU all have on their RADAR.
Make no mistake,all four houses do take random PNMs, no matter what you hear. The difference is that the top house might take 5-10 randoms whereas a mid tier house might take 30-40 randoms.
