recruitment schedule

by: Dawg

How does everyone think recruitment will be affected by having that 2 day break for the first 2 days of school? I predict a ton of dirty rushing and PNMs overthinking things and then ranking the sororities based off reputation since their personal experiences at each house will have faded away somewhat. Curious to hear what everyone else thinks though.

Not to be negative or take away from how excited I am about recruitment but I'm really nervous about that too. I think it's gonna throw a total wrench in the system and dirty rushing will be way worse. Like certain girls could be asked to hang out with members Thursday and Friday and all kinda other stuff could go down. I wish we could go straight through instead of the two day break :-(

Absolutely no good can come of this. Rush is hard enough for actives and PNM's without throwing two days to stress non stop right in the middle of it. This was a bad call for all involved.

It's going to completely ruin any hope of PNMs being at all objective and if PNMs see evidence of dirty rushing to happening to everyone except them, there are just going to be a lot of hurt feelings.

Yeah it's just gonna give PNMs 2 extra days to overthink things. Hopefully they still won't get their schedules for philanthropy round until Saturday morning though. I bet a lot of girls drop too because they'll be worrying about it combined with the stress of starting their first semester of school. I could girls who are having a bad week just deciding it's not worth the stress and not wanting to come back on SaturdayS

Also I don't see why they couldn't have made spirit week start a day earlier. Anyone taking summer classes already has finals the first 2 days of spirit week, so why couldn't they have just started on Sunday or Monday and excused anyone who had a class Monday...

Plus homesickness might start creeping in for some. It's just too drawn out and too many factors for these poor freshman to process.

I think it's good because the break will give chapters a little breather to think about who they really want, instead of panicking all week and making such quick decisions. They will be more prepared going into philanthropy. It will be stressful for the PNMs though, adjusting to class while they're stressing about rush all day.

I thought we still have to have votes in by Wednesday night like we would normally? And it doesn't matter who the sororities want if those PNMs drop out of recruitment because they psyched themselves out
