general rush q
by: preparing for the worstAt UGA, what's the round in which you're most likely to get dropped completely from rush? Also, how common is it to be completely dropped from all sororities? Slightly paranoid

It's very rare for a pnm to get completely released by the university. It's kind of been my experience that most girls who don't finish drop on their own accord. Sometimes pnm's don't get the invites they want or get a startlingly low number, so they panic and drop. My advice: don't! Ride it out and hang in through pref. even if you attend parties you didn't think you would. Give them a fair shake. EVERY sorority at UGA has its merits. Really try to embrace the houses that have invited you. You'll be great! Best of luck!!

Probably most likely to get dropped at pref (that's the final one), but philanthropy (round 3) it could happen also. I don't think it's too common, but this year could go either way since there is a new house. The other houses might be more selective for that reason, but I don't think DPhiE will be cutting a ton of people just because they need to continue to build their membership. Overall getting completely dropped is pretty rare, everyone in my gamma chi group ended up in a house except for one girl that chose to drop her self bc she didn't think sorority life was right for her (she still had top tier houses for pref before she quit). Try not to be too nervous and make your conversations stand out (in a good way, don't say weird stuff for attention) and you should be fine.

I wouldn't worry THAT much. It does happen, but with DPhiE participating this year, it's likely you'll be placed somewhere. But that's the thing... like the above posters pointed out, most girls drop because they don't get invites to houses they want. It's all about keeping an open mind.

2 girls in my gamma chi group were released after philanthropy and 1 girl was released after pref. Then 2 other girls dropped by their own choice, so it does happen but it's not too common. But like other people have said, I really don't see DPhiE cutting a ton of people this year, so this will probably be an easy year to rush if you don't care where you end up.
