moving up in rankings???
by: confusedokay, so is it possible for sororities to move up in rankings because it seems like everyone thinks it's pretty set and stone? for example, if AGD got one of the hottest pledge classes on Milledge would they move up into the middle tier? or if Pi Phi's social calendar included Fiji, Sigma Chi, ATO, AEPi, and SNU would they move into the lower top bracket? I'm really just confused how sororities are supposed to change places if people say "old row" will always be top....

Old row will not always necessarily be top. Chi O is evidence of that. Also, there are girls every year that choose new row houses like ZTA & KD over old row houses.
Now that that's out of the way, yes, it's possible for houses to move up, but it can be hard. Fraternities and sororities are only given so many socials per semester, and they tend to keep the same houses their calendars. UNLESS, they realize another house has gotten better, and they replace one of the frats/sororitys they socialize with with another house.
So how to fraternities and sororities typically do this? Usually, looks.
So yes, if AGD got the hottest PC on Milledge, which is unlikely, they would easily move up. However, AGD is generally a lower middle sorority (they have decent frats on their calendar), so they will probably get a pretty pledge class at least. There are very pretty girls in AGD, but they will probably stay at lower middle until APhi comes to campus. Then, they have potential to move up.
As far as Pi Phi goes, they already have a great social calendar. People act like Pi phi is lower than they are (honestly same with DZ & Gamma Phi). However, in order for them to get the frats you mentioned, those frats would have to drop other sororities, which is POSSIBLE. I don't want to pick on chi o, but if they were to keep falling like they are, Pi phi could easily replace chi o on "good" frats calendars. Pi phi doesn't have a huge presence on campus, but they're really fun girls and pretty too
