oos adpi legacy
by: future pnmHi! I am an out of state ADPi legacy, wondering how important being a legacy is to getting into a certain house. Would it give me a higher likelihood of an ADPi bid? Or affect my chances on getting bids from other houses? Thanks. Go Dawgs!

It will not help you get a bid. The houses here even cut a lot of their UGA legacies, even daughters of mothers who were in the chapter.
As far as preventing you, many people on greekchat have advised not to reveal your legacy status on the online registration, and only to make it known to that certain chapter (through a legacy introduction form).

Every chapter handles legacies a little differently, but typically you will automatically be invited back to the sorority where you're a legacy for house tours. Anything after that depends on how much they like you after the first 2 rounds. I agree that your shouldn't announce that to the other sororities. You don't want to sound like you're confident you'll end up in adpi so you're not interested in anyone else, because you'll get cut by everyone else if you come across that way. ADPi is probably the competitive house here, so please don't take it personally if you don't end up there! Give every sorority a fair chance during recruitment, don't say anything that could hurt your chances and just see how it goes :)

Adpi is extremely competitive here so you really need to have friends in the chapter to get a bid there
