sae?
by: SophSoroGirl
As a new member in my sorority last year, we were essentially told that SAE was the best fraternity on campus. My sorority is one that is generally associated with SAE. And we were sorta expected to go to football games with an SAE date. My sorority is an "old row" sorority on Milledge.
But as I finish my sophomore year, I think sometimes that SAE is so, so vastly overrated. Yes, they've been at Georgia before time began and are probably generally very wealthy and many are very, very good-looking.
But as a group, I find SAE vastly over-rated and sadly dull.
Despite being old-money and good-looking, the lore of SAE I was told of - and probably hoped for - hasn't been there for me.
The boys are shallow, self-centered and I found, rude. I sense no real brotherhood, chemistry or comraderie among their brothers.
I haven't been around long enough to know if SAE has changed but I was incredibly disappointed.
I wanted them to be exceptional based on what many of my sorority sisters said.
But I, probably surprisingly to many in my house, found them to be very average, middle-tier.
Maybe with our next social next year, I'll find what I had been told to expect. Or, instead, maybe they will have improved.
Frankly, I'd rather hang with the KAs or Fijis or Sigma Chis, which I'm not sure many of my sorority sisters understand.
