chances of getting a sorority bid as a sophomore

by: Kell

I am currently a freshman at University of North Georgia and am transferring to UGA in the fall ,I grew up near Athens, and UGA has always been my dream school, i am instate and know many people that attend UGA,have graduated from UGA and are attending next year as freshmen. i definitely plan on going through sorority recruitment however is it hard to get a bid as a sophomore since you'll only be there for 3 years?i want to keep an extremely open mind and just want to find a house that i truly belong to so any advice would be appreciated be honest if being a sophomore would prevent me from getting a bid:)

I'll be rushing as a sophomore in the fall as well! The sororities actually have this upperclassmen quota that helps encourage them to accept sophomores. I'm not sure if it is required to fill that quota, but it does help. You can get recommendations as well to help improve your chances of getting a bid, but I think you'll be fine. Also, it's a great idea to keep an open mind because you might get dropped from several houses (although I doubt they'll only drop you because you're a sophomore). It'll be rare if you don't get a bid. Keep an open mind, act excited to be there, and they'll love you
