If you're in a quantitative/scientifically rigorous subject my guess is that the average UofT student's marks would be materially higher if they studied at Queens. Go to reddit and look up the fail rate for some of UofT's first year math/science courses, there's plenty of horror stories here that I doubt Queens has.
I'd choose to go to UofT if I found that the reputation of UofT in my field of choice is materially better than that of Queens, enough so that it would compensate me for any GPA hit I may take (I doubt this standard is met).
On the social side I think UofT is fine. If you live in res as a first year you will have no problem, likewise if you join greeklife. OFC it isn't a party school, you will need to apply yourself if you want to do well and you probably can't go out every weekend (although plenty of students don't do this, to the detriment of their academics).
As for your question of "do people genuinely love uoft", I would guess that not a single person I know feels that they "love" this school. In my experience, on an institutional level, UofT does not care about the average undergraduate student enough to elicit that feeling. The average student's relationship to UofT is probably comparable to the average high schooler's relationship to the College Board.

your posting this on greekrank which leads me to believe that you might wanna know more about Greeklife here aswell. Uofts greeklife is pretty much the best established in Canada, ubc is up there too. I don’t think queens really has anything in terms of greeklife at all. So in the aspect Uoft wins without a doubt. However the academic rigour is really what gets to students. However it’s heavily dependent on what program you are in such as engineering, math, physics etc

Other comments kinda hit the nail on the head. There is a very good greek life scene. However, your average student definitely parties less than other schools. Also any employable degree here will be really workload heavy, so you will need to sacrifice going out here more than other schools. Don't expect a crazy ass American style party life, but if you look for it you can make some great memories and lifelong friends.

UBC has the best established greek life in Canada, no debate. UofT is behind Western but before McGill
