Thinking of Dropping
by: LonerIm thinking of dropping my sorority. I joined it last year and barely have any friends and it’s so expensive that I feel like the experience is not worth it. I’m barely noticed and feel super invisible. Everyone hangs out with each other and looks like they have so much fun on instagram together with such cute photos and I have so much Fomo. I feel like I’m just a filler in my sorority. At semis and formals I’m usually to myself and it sucks. I want to make the most of this experience and even do my best to get involved but I’m still alone and it really sucks. :(

Yeah I dropped mines because it was so cliquey, everyone was nice but closer to everyone else. I wanted be close with girls so badly and would reach out to COBs to hang out and such but the COBs were already close friends with people in chapter so even with them I stood no chance. Even my big and I aren’t that close, like since she has gotten me all she talks about is wanting another little meanwhile we barely even talk to each other like I would always initiate the hanging out!

The thing about Frats and Srats is there’s always going to be people who are closer than others. Take rush as an opportunity to find a place where you really feel you really fit. That’s the best you can do.
The double edged sword of an all inclusive sorority rush is that you may end up in a place with people you get along with, but can’t build really get the ideal sorority friendship that you hoped for.
Give it a try, follow your gut if it feels right but don’t be afraid to cut your losses.
(This is an older frat guys perspective so take it with a grain of salt)
