what does it take to get into a sorority?

If your goal is to get a bid at the end of recruitment, maximize your options and do not "suicide pref" at the end of rush. If you are realistic and keep options open regardless of tiers, you will likely end up with a bid at the end of recruitment. Honestly, some sororities may value looks & how "fun" you are more than other things. But all are looking for women who they click with and believe with add to their sisterhood. This relates to rush too-- you should make choices during rush based on the girls you meet and where you think you'll fit in, not any of the stereotypes you read on this website. Rush is competitive, so put your best foot forward, but remember all the sororities at Wake have great opportunities.

It takes something different to get into each sorority. "Top tiers" are looking for what fits them best, but there's no inherent difference in what they're looking for compared to bottom tier sororities. To be honest, if you don't have the kappa vibe, you aren't going to get into kappa. If you don't have and tri delt vibe, you aren't going to get into tri delt. If you don't have the adpi vibe, you aren't going to get into adpi. The list goes on and on. Just go in and be yourself because in the end that's all that really matters. Nobody wants a bottom tier sorority, but that option is much better than hating all of your sisters. For some reason all freshmen think that rankings are so important, and in the greek community they really don't matter that much. Just go into recruitment relaxed and yourself.
