rushing friend groups

Do sororities rush friend groups?? I thought they did, but I met a girl the other day who really wanted to go Chi-O and all her friends got it except for her, and she said she feels out of place.
Is this normal? I’m sure everyone will be happy wherever they end up but I’m scared this will happen to me and I won’t have any friends.

go into rush with an open mind and be prepared to not be with your friends. that’s the point of rushing second semester. some sororities do and some don’t (none should) and you should be ready to accept either option.

Sororities do not care about friend groups. If they think you are a good fit that does not mean they think your friend is by association or vice versa. Also they don’t necessarily memorize every single friend group bc there are like 500 girls going through rush. You and your friends are very likely not going to be in the same sorority and that’s okay. That’s why we do second semester rush. It’s nice to have friends outside of your sorority from first semester and then meet new people when you rush.

sororitys will rush friend groups if they think those friend groups fit their vibe. Lower and middle tier sororitys tend to do this. Top tier is typically more picky. If you are worried about being separated from your friends, go on group rush dates.

Tri Delt, chi o, kappa and beta definitely rush friend groups

On insta I can see chi o girls follow freshman friend groups. Kappa too from what i can tell
