the truth

by: This

Every sorority at Wake is amazing. Some are more selective but they are equally strong.

More selective: Kappa, DDD, Adpi and XO( 1/2 and 1/2)
These four tend to rush girls they want in the fall and pre select their PC

More open for membership: Beta, DZ, KD and Theta
There is opportunity join one of these during rush without knowing a ton of girls already.

The selectivity is sort of true about all sororities at Wake. It will help your chances significantly to meet women from every sorority and forge genuine friendships during your second semester. Don’t think you are guaranteed a bid just because you have met girls in a certain sorority (or make friendships just on that basis, bc it will be obvious and people see right through it), but knowing sorority women will both help you get to know the group and will help the groups get to know you. Also, behave yourself and don’t get sloppy. They’ll remember come January.

How exactly do you meet a ton of sorority members in the fall? I don't get how they preselect. Please advise.

They don’t actually “pre select” but rather know who they want before rush and in return, know who wants them. You can meet upperclassman at Panhellenic events, out at parties, in your classes, volunteering for various things on campus, etc. it is this way, that some girls would already have friendships with various sorority members and know they wanted to be a whatever. But, some people don’t make these connections before rush and figure it out during that rush week. Either way works and Greek life/rush is actually very chill here at Wake so don’t stress.
