Here is advice I wish I knew coming into Wake:

Wake Greek Life is competitive. Going in to freshman year thinnking “I’m an above average guy or girl, I’m going to be in a organization ranked in the middle” is flat out wrong.

Even organizations in the middle of the middle like KD or Chi Psi cut way over a hundred kids. And even bottom organizations like DZ/Theta cut much much more than they take.

Being in an organization in the middle of the pack is relative to an already cool crowd of people for both fraternities and sororities.

Also! Rankings are based off an individual’s opinion and are based off the personality of the organization and how cool that personality is to them. Just because an organization is in the top doesn’t mean they are cool, their overall personality to that one person is cool. Go where you think you fit in and enjoy the people, not where a ranking states is the best personality.

There are no wrong choices unless you don’t fit in! Don’t fake your personality be yourself! Everyone who gets accepted into Greek Life has an amazing 4 years

It is also important to know that spring is much more competetive than fall, and if you have a connection to someone in a spring PC, it is pretty easy to get a fall bid.

This is only for fraternities, if you didn't get a spring sorority bid it is basically over except in rare cases. Which is BS.

Also never fall rush Dke. Not worth it. Not in a million years would that be a good idea.

If you get cut in the spring you aren’t getting a fall bid.

As someone who joined a sorority during a fall semester, if you don’t do/get dropped from spring rush, the best thing you can do is actively talk to girls in sororities you’re interested in and make friends. It’s not impossible.

So the machi pike and sae Pcs were all filled with ppl that got cut spring. It's not over if u know ppl in the spring Pc. Much less competetive

If you get cut, 99% of the time it’s over for the fall. Thinking you will get something in the fall is like Russian Roulette with getting a bid and your social life

Rushing fall for guys is not the move. The pledging is a lot more tough. If you get a spring bid you should take it. Almost all of the frats have fun at Wake and pledging is a lot easier with more people.

Spring is definitely the way to go if you’re given that opportunity. Not only is the pledging shorter and easier, but you will have an extra semester of fun basically since the guys that go fall don’t do much their freshman spring semester (fraternities become much more exclusive)

Looking back, If there's two things I wish I knew as an incoming freshman it would be that this school kinda sucks and Greek life is overrated.

Girls - make sure you like the fraternity that your potential sorority mixes w/ a lot. Ask questions. It’s important.

Greek is good, but also exclusive for every organization!
