xo snap bids ????

I know several girls who put XO first but got something else. But XO picks up snaps? How is that possible? Did Panhellenic screw up?

This is a good question. Is it possible for XO to refuse 1st choice after preference night and get snap bid replacements? I did not think that was possible. I was told by Panhellenic that last year 88.5% of pms got their first choice.

That has actually happened with XO several times. Is it a XO problem or computer problem? Panhellenic should address this. If you put XO first and they were unable to fill a class, then everyone who put them first should be a XO, right?

its an XO problem bc they try to be too exclusive and it bites them in the ass

panhel didnt screw up. XO probably gave a lot of bids to girls who did not pref them. those girls which preffed chi o were prob given bids by their second choice, which took them out of the running for a chi o bid, even a snap. If a girl preffed chi o and only put one option (not two) or she didn't receive a bid from her second choice, those would be the only situations where she could pick up one of those filler bids.

How would a 2nd choice pref bid take them out of the running if xo was their first choice?

Because that’s how it works. Your second choice gets priority if they give you a bid over a pity bid from your first choice.

If you pref them, it isn’t a pity bid. You are on their bid list. Obviously, if they picked up 12 snaps then they made it through their entire list without filling a pledge class. It’s weird that girls who preffed them and listed XO as their first choice, got their second choice. It doesn’t make sense.

So XO are essentially breaking the rules -- and also being unfair (and one could also say very unkind) to the girls rushing and preferring them. Not too classy.

XO is at fault. Panhellenic should be made aware so they can address it.
