how competitive are sororities?
by: tI am a prospective girl, and definitely want to pledge a top tier sorority if I go to wake, but how competitive is it to get in?

Truth A: meet girls from each, you'll find your spot. Tiers aren't a big deal here and you'll be happy wherever you go. Also you never know how your mind will change during rush.
Truth B: if you want kappa, be pretty and sweet at rush, know people beforehand. They also love blondes. Honestly. If you want beta, they usually take a wide mix that they consider hot, genuine, and chill. Love foreign girls. If you want Chi O which is kinda top but more middle, get in a hot friend group that they can rush basically before rush starts or be edgy and cool during rush.

"Top" is subjective especially here at Wake. For me, DDD is a better fit than Beta, even though Beta is considered top and DDD is considered middle. I would have preffed Theta over DZ, etc. Its all about finding the most comfortable place for you. Do that and you will love sorority life at Wake.

You will be much happier if you keep an open mind. Really all the sororities have great things to offer. Disregard this bogus website and go where you feel the most comfortable. And truth: you will probably be cut from somewhere so keeping an open mind is critical. I went with the so called "top" but think I would have been happier somewhere else. Don't get sucked in to all the hype. Wake has GREAT sororities, just make sure you find YOUR FIT, not someone's arbitrary ranking.

Beta's just not Panhellenic ...if you think that's vitally important in your life in the bigger schemes of things then I can't help but feel sorry for you. Some girls just don't care enough about "connections after college" or throwing up a hand sign every five seconds, don't belittle them because of it.
