I am confused. Wasn't Phi Mu rushing after rush last year and then offered bids before rush this year and now they seem to have about a hundred bids out. Doesn't Pan Hel regulate rush? They are almost annoying with the Phi's pursuit of new pledges. Yes, they are different, and some in a nice way, but come on, if Phi Mu is not making it here, maybe they should change and not be playing by different rules. I hope that they do not fold, but they will unless they change how they operate.

Let's face it, Phi Mu lacks what it takes, i.e. leadership. Their neverending rushes to get any girl they can find to pledge is proof of their lack of credibility or sustainability. They do lack social sophistication. My prediction is that they fold this year or next. And yes, there are a few nice Phi Mus, but it takes sisterhood, high ethical and moral standards, and respect for your sisters to make a chapter work. They lost those qualities and their leaders do not know where to find them.

Reputations are earned - both good and bad - and Phi Mu has earned their reputation. Of course there are some nice Phi Mu's but overall this is not a strong or positive chapter. They are consistently ranked at the bottom of all of the sororities and there is good reason for this.

So true. I know a few girls in my hall who dropped as soon as they were left with Phi Mu...that's crazy. If you want a greek experience, join the house and work within to improve it!!!

The problem is their bad reputation perpetuates itself and only makes things worse. Plenty of girls would've made great Phi Mu's this past spring but chose to drop out of recruitment or not accept the bid from Phi Mu once they got it just because of their reputation on campus and what others would think. This is the sad reality of it, and I hope they can get a good sized pledge class in the fall because no one likes to see a sorority die out, and especially not one with genuinely sweet girls like Phi Mu.

it's one thing for someone to be not that attractive but still nice; it's another for PNMs to literally control the conversation during rush because most Phi Mus are seriously socially awkward. i feel bad for them
