Greek life here is pretty prevalent and not similar to many other colleges. Most of the houses are on the same block in a neighborhood right off campus. Sororities aren’t difficult to get into outside of Kappa, Chi O, and ADPi. For guys, it’s tough get a bid outside of KSig, Tachi, AEPi, and PiKapp. Dirty rush is especially common among top frats.

Wake has a very robust Greek Life scene. In fact, if you want a social life at Wake it is a must. More girls are Greek than boys. The most selective sororities are Beta/Chi-O/Kappa. The others are very easy to get bids from but those three are not. Pledge classes are around 70 for girls. Too big IMO to really get to know people so it actually ends up being really cliquey. That being said, girls do not exclusively hang out within their sorority and are friends with others. The top fraternities are extremely selective while only taking around 20max per pledge class. Chi Psi, DKE, KA, Lambda, Pike, SAE, and Machi(Sig Chi) are the most selective and you really need to know someone in these fraternities to get a bid. The others are relatively easy and will take most unless you are a total tool. The new President is actively trying to get rid of fraternities so beware.

Greek like dominates the social scene here at wake, and frats are extremely selective each year with their pledge classes - each has around 20 dudes, and there are only 13 frats, with only 7-8 being relevant and 5 being the top ones youd want to join.

Greek life at wake is tough, especially the frats. Fraternities completely dominate the social scene. If you are a social person or someone who likes to party, and you're not in a fraternity, it will suck. However, the fraternities are extremely selective and competitive. There are a total of 15 or something Fraternities, but that include organizational fraternities. Realistically, there are like 8 frats, and out of those 8 there are like 5 that youd actually want to join. If there are about 20 people per PC, than that makes about 100 guys who will make it into a good frat.

Wake is 50% Greek, about 80% of girls and 30% of guys do it. It absolutely dominates the social scene on campus, esp. with no bars or anything close by. Fraternities are super selective, and sororities are still pretty selective individually, but you have a good chance of getting in one overall. Really fun, great people in Greek life, only complaint is how toxic people can sometimes be about their status.

There is a very weak social scene outside of Greek life at wake and the schools administration is making Greek life even harder to be a part of, especially for guys

The idea that rush starts second semester is not true. If you want to be in a top frat or sorority you need to know people or get to know people first semester. The top frats pretty much have their PC before thanksgiving. If you want to have a good time freshman and sophomore year you want to be in Greek life. Pledging isn’t bad for boys it’s just time consuming and you won’t be going out for pretty much the whole semester. Pledging for girls is a breeze and not something to be scared of but it does exist in some form whether or not the sororities deny it.
