oos, - is this an issue rushing a fraternity?

by: OOS

Based upon my visit and what I have read, its my impression that either the high school or state you come from matters during rush. I am from the West Coast and wonder if this is going to be an issue during rush for any houses? Greek life is a component of my decision as to where I will be attending next Fall.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

it might be a little harder for you since you don't aready know guys in the house, but as long as you're cool and get along with the guys at rush events you'll be fine

It definitely helps to be from around here because then you'll have inside connections during rush, but as long as you're cool and can make a good impression I can't see it being a problem, with the exception of fraternities like maybe Fiji or Beta, who are known to draw pledge classes mainly by zip code/high school

Why do you say that? Fiji couldn't even get a pledge this year. No one in their pledge class for spring.
