what's with songfest??

I understand Songfest raises a lot of money for philanthropies but is it really worth it when we could just spend the time we do working on songfest actually helping out our philanthropies? Don't get me wrong I think it would be a great event if it didn't bring out the worst in just about every person participating. All the back and forth drama between houses tears apart the greek community rather than bring it closer together. Every year I'm just seeing more and more negatives to songfest and less positives. Don't even get me started on all the contests this year either.
